Ethnoflora of the Soqotra Archipelago-A.G. Miller & M. Morris
  • Sale

A new type of flora describing the botany and ethnobotany of all higher plant species found on these Indian Ocean islands. It represents the culmination of more than ten year's work by a multidisciplinary team of botanists, illustrators and an ethnographer, funded by the UK Darwin Initiative and Global Environment Facility.

Aiming to bridge the gap between biologists and conservationists, the Ethnoflora features an introduction to the diverse flora, culture and environment of the Archipelago; a fully illustrated key for identifying all 825 higher plant species; comprehensive colour maps of the four islands' geography and vegetation; colour photographs of most endemic plants, as well as vegetation types, topography and plant uses; full descriptions of all species, including taxonomy, ecology, distribution, conservation status and ethnobotany and an analysis of future conservation challenges facing the islands.

Hardback, 759pp, 305 x 218mm, black & white and colour illustrations
